Rule 47:
Approved Government Model Templates

Primary requirement

  1. Agencies must use Approved Government Model Templates (A-GMTs) for their procurement activities, regardless of whether or not the Rules apply to the procurement.

Application 

  1. Agencies must use A-GMTs as the default templates for all low-value, low-risk common goods and services.
  2. Agencies must include A-GMTs in their suite of contract templates.

Approved Government Model Templates

The Procurement System Leader issues Approved Government Model Templates (A-GMTs) from time to time.

You’re required to use these templates in your procurement activities. They are separate from general procurement templates, like the contract register template or procurement plan template, which are optional to use.

Using standardised templates leads to greater efficiency and consistency, so don’t change the template.

An example of an A-GMT is the Government Model Contract (GMC).

Tools and templates you’re encouraged to use

There are other tools and templates available which make the procurement process more efficient.

They include the RFx templates, and form-based versions of common templates which are easier to fill.  Agencies are encouraged to use these tools.
