Creating smart and accessible practices makes it easier for everyone to do their mahi. We want agencies to be able to make good procurement decisions and deliver their solutions quickly. With these goals in mind, new and smaller agencies and suppliers will be able to grow in a supportive environment, while we continue to focus on providing greater value for all.
By reducing duplication and red tape in procurement processes, agencies and suppliers have more time to focus on outcomes, innovation and priorities. This helps New Zealand businesses grow and develop while working towards winning government contracts.
As part of this work, we’re currently reviewing the Procurement Rules to create a more balanced focus covering the full procurement lifecycle. This includes planning and contract management, rather than just sourcing, and aims to reduce the administrative burden of processes.
