New Business Reference Group meets for the first time

Part of: Procurement news Consultancy Professional services

New members of the Business Reference Group (BRG), representing businesses from across a number of sectors, met for the first time in early February.

New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) is strengthening the engagement with businesses to build a smarter, more connected procurement system that works better for suppliers and for New Zealand.

BRG plays an important role in this and ensures that supplier voices remain at the centre of government decision making. Its members provide strategic insights to help shape government procurement and policy settings that support economic growth.

This forum will influence how NZGP works with businesses across New Zealand, and improve outcomes for both businesses and government, through closer collaboration and a more responsive procurement system.

"New Zealand's business community is a critical player in our government procurement system. I'm delighted to be working with such a diverse and knowledgeable group and looking forward to continuing the constructive engagement," says Michael Alp, General Manager New Zealand Government Procurement.

Members of the Business Reference Group:

  • Fraser May – Civil Contractors NZ
  • Helen Davidson – ACE New Zealand
  • Talia Rikihana – Whāriki Te Tai Tokerau
  • Rick Osborne – Metals NZ
  • Chris O'Brien – Avoria
