Less-than-one-day rentals - a great alternative to reducing emissions

Less-than-one-day rentals (LTODR), also known as ‘car sharing’, is a mobility solution providing an on-demand short term use of a low emission vehicle, using app based technology.

Car sharing is becoming a popular transport option. It is currently available in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

The LTODR category is part of the All-of-Government (AoG) rental vehicle contract and includes very competitive rates. The supplier takes care of parking, fuel/electricity charge and vehicle maintenance.

All LTODR suppliers on the AoG panel (Cityhop, MEVO and Zilch) offer eco-friendly vehicles that help agencies to reduce carbon emissions. For agencies, it could mean fewer taxis and Ubers, or they could be used as a fleet vehicle alternative.
