Economic benefit fields now in GETS

A new field in GETS will capture economic benefits in new procurement activities. These changes support the 5th edition of the Government Procurement Rules.

Liz Palmer, Head of Capability and Business Systems, NZGP says, "Government agencies are now able to report information about the economic benefits their procurement activities bring to the New Zealand economy. This automatically supports requirements in Rule 8 of the latest Government Procurement Rules."

Rule 8: Economic benefit to New Zealand

The 5th edition of the Rules has a key focus on leveraging government spending to achieve economic outcomes and enhancing and improving data collection. We are continuously looking for ways to make reporting easier.

Liz Palmer  Head of Capability and Business Systems, NZGP

"By doing this directly in GETS, we are gathering accurate and up-to-date information about economic benefits and minimising the reporting burden on our customers at the same time."

“While this change is of direct relevance to the new Rules, we continue to strive for greater transparency and quality data across our work programme. Better data analysis informs better decisions and delivers robust insights across the public sector.”

"We have also made changes to improve the performance of GETS, added questions to gather information about the use of woollen fibres in construction, and updated some content for agency customers." says Liz.
