All-of-Government office supplies (Generation Three) return to market

Part of: All-of-Government Procurement news Contract update Office

The All-of-Government (AoG) office supplies contract has returned to market for the Generation Three solution. The Request for Proposal (RFP) was released on 16 November.

The new solution is focussed on seven product categories with a specific focus on low-waste products and delivering broader outcomes. The Generation Three solution involves a significant shift in the objectives of AoG, and is an excellent opportunity for government to reduce waste and minimise the collective impact its office supplies have on the environment.

The solution aims to support participating agencies in achieving broader outcomes, with a focus on waste reduction, while ensuring we keep what is working well and provide additional value-add.

Generation Three will include a new consolidated, low-waste catalogue, two additional product categories (milk/milk alternatives and health and safety products), and a continued focus on public value.

Our objectives for the Generation Three solution are:

  • Designing waste out of the system;
  • Supporting New Zealand businesses through the wider supply chain;
  • A value driven increase in schools’ participation;
  • Insightful data and quality reporting; and
  • Value-for-money.

The solution is due to be finalised prior to the expiry of the current solution on 17 July 2021.
