This offer is for the supply of international air freight services and domestic distribution of goods to the New Zealand government in response to COVID-19.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has entered into an agreement with Mainfreight for the supply of international freight services and domestic distribution of goods to the New Zealand government (Letter of Offer). This Letter of Offer is open to all eligible government agencies and their wider supply chains.
The purpose of the Letter of Offer is to aggregate government agency demand for goods and prioritise access to international air freight as New Zealand responds to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Letter of Offer is optional for agencies participation. Some government agencies may choose to continue with their existing freight forwarding arrangements.
The Letter of Offer is expected to be in place until 28 February 2021.
Mainfreight will coordinate with airline carriers and government agencies and suppliers to ensure the best use of outbound and inbound air freight capacity, including the delivery of goods from manufacturer to the destination address(s).
