As the Easter break approaches remember to publish your contract opportunities with sufficient time for suppliers to prepare their tender responses.
Margaret Pearson, Chief Advisor Procurement, New Zealand Government Procurement, says it’s important we make it easier for suppliers to do business with us. This includes allowing sufficient time over holiday periods to ensure suppliers have enough time to prepare their responses and that the process has been fair to all.
“The Government Rules of Sourcing set some minimum requirements, however agencies may find they need to give suppliers more time in order to get the best outcome.”
“Over the next few months we encourage agencies to undertake good procurement planning as we lead into the Easter holidays,” says Margaret.
The Rules of Sourcing help to support good market engagement, which leads to better outcomes for agencies, suppliers and New Zealand taxpayers. NZGP is currently seeking feedback on the Government Rules of Sourcing 4th edition.
