Support the Advertising Standards Authority

3 August 2017

Many agencies use advertising to promote public messaging, with agencies using New Zealand Government Procurement’s Advertising Media and Advertising Services All-of-Government (AoG) contracts.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) self-regulates advertising in New Zealand. The Authority works alongside a number of regulatory bodies to support responsible advertising and have codes of practice which set standards and compliment advertising legislation.

ASA’s vision is Every ad a responsible ad. Through industry regulation they maintain consumer confidence in advertising and this enhances advertising effectiveness as a result.

The ASA is mostly funded through voluntary levies from advertisers, based on a small percentage of media spend. For more information on The Advertising Standards Authority and how to begin paying the voluntary levy visit the ASA website.
