Social Services Procurement Capability team update

4 May 2017

The Social Services Procurement Capability team is now firmly established within NZGP and making contact with agency procurement teams within the social sector.

Thanks to all those who attended the launch of Guide to Buying and Managing Social Services. So far The Guide has over 965 hits online. Remember that we welcome your feedback – just drop us a line via email

The team is developing some contract management training and will offer three sessions in June 2017. This training will give contract managers a tool kit to manage their relationship with providers. Keep an eye on our website for those dates – we will be calling for registrations soon.

The next project for the team is a survey of agency staff involved in social services procurement. Information from this survey will help the team understand the different roles people have in buying and managing social services and what tools, support and guidance will be most useful. It will also help agencies planning to develop their procurement capability. The survey will happen in May/June 2017, so look out for it then.

Feel free to contact the team to find out how they can support you in achieving better outcomes for service users.
