Welcome to the Academy! It’s the ‘go to’ place for procurement training and education in New Zealand

Established in 2010 as part of the Government Procurement Reform Programme, the New Zealand Procurement Academy is now a major driver of procurement training within New Zealand.

The Academy assists public and private sector procurement practitioners in accessing a range of world-class procurement training courses and undertaking study towards internationally recognised procurement qualifications.

Working alongside the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and selected private training providers, we’re helping make high-quality procurement education and training more readily available.

  • A range of non-assessed procurement training courses – from foundation to advanced level
  • Subsidised study for public sector procurers towards CIPS qualifications

Through Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment backing and better coordination, we’re able to subsidise a limited number places for education and reduce the costs for procurement training.  What’s more, we’re able to attract internationally experienced procurement trainers into the New Zealand market.

Over the next few years, the Academy will help to address New Zealand’s procurement skills gaps by providing the public and private sector with an increased pool of people with the right skills and experience to meet the growing demands of procurement.
